How to Schedule a Riding Lesson at TES: Everything You Need to Know

At The Traditional Equitation School (TES), we strive to offer a wide range of lesson times to accommodate our clients, but sometimes it can be tricky to find an open spot—especially if you're looking to book a lesson on short notice. Here’s everything you need to know about scheduling a lesson at TES and some tips to ensure you get the time slot that works for you!

**Same-Day Bookings**  If you're hoping to book a lesson on the same day, please give our office a call directly at 818-569-3666. Same-day bookings can only be made over the phone so we can confirm both an instructor and a horse are available. Our horses are only available to teach a limited number of lessons each day—on average, each TES horse teaches just 2 lessons per day. This helps ensure they remain fresh and ready to provide the best experience for you!

**Reserve Times**  For those who want guaranteed weekly lesson times, TES offers Reserve Times. When you set up a reserve time, you’re booking a slot that is exclusively yours every week at the same day and time. You’ll have the first option to book into that time, but here’s the important part: we hold the reserve until 5 days before your scheduled lesson. If you haven’t booked by that point, the slot will open up to any student. If you’d like to set up a reserve time, please call our office. You must have a monthly subscription or horse lease in order to qualify for a reserve. It’s also essential to use your reserve regularly. If you miss too many weeks, you may lose the privilege of your reserve slot.

**Check for Open Slots**  If you don’t see any available lessons, don’t worry! Reserve slots sometimes open up closer to the date, as students make changes to their schedules. Check back 5 days before your lesson to see if a spot has become available. .

Here’s when to check back for weekend availability:

Mondays after 4 p.m.: For Saturday lesson availability

Tuesdays after 4 p.m.: For Sunday lesson availability

**A Note on Flexibility**  Los Angeles is a busy place, and we understand that life happens! That’s why we offer flexibility, but it’s important to keep in mind that, because of demand, our scheduling system is designed to give priority to those who are consistent with their bookings.
